HENSEL SONGS ONLINE was created and is maintained by Tim Parker-Langston. Tim is studying Hensel’s Lieder in a Practice Research PhD project at Goldsmiths, University of London under the supervision of Dr. Berta Joncus and Dr. Pete Furniss. Tim is building a reputation as an important Hensel scholar and is challenging the roles of the performer in traditional intellectual hierarchies of classical music.

Tim is a tenor in the chorus of the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, which he complements with an active solo and recital career. This work has seen him perform with Oxford Lieder Festival, Walter Carrol Recital Series, Shaftesbury Festival, Royal Opera House Live at Lunch, Sage Gateshead, Wigmore Hall, Richard Strauss Society, Patricia Routledge National English Song Competition (finalist) amongst others.

In January 2023, Tim and a group of six artists travelled to Leipzig, Germany to record a 2CD of songs by Fanny Hensel, which will be released in July 2023 by First Hand Records.
